It’s the Big Day. You’ve been planning this moment for months if not years. Your soon to be husband is waiting for you, expectantly, nervously. He is surrounded by friends and family and you are about to set off down the aisle to wedded bliss. But wait. What about the ceremony music?

On this most important day of your life: what are going to walk in to?

a) Silence?

b) A nervous friend or family member, iPod at the ready, wondering frantically when to start the track, when to stop it, how loud, secretly wishing they’d performed a sound check?

c) see a).

This is when you wished you’d booked professional musicians. Two Play Strings has performed beautiful music at literallyhundreds of wedding ceremonies and pre-dinner functions. We provide elegant background music for your guests and, to accompany you on one of the most important walks of your life.

And when it comes to the Big Walk: we will be ready to start playing your chosen music right from the first step – regardless of the size of your wedding party. We’ll build to a crescendo as you near your guests and climax as you approach your subtly emotional bridegroom. If you’re being “given away” we’ll continue until he returns to his seat and your bridesmaid has formed your gown to best effect.

The celebrant is now poised to commence the ceremony and seamlessly, magically: it begins.
But what music do brides walk in to?

Did you know that 95% of our brides walk in to Pachelbel’s Canon? It truly is a beautiful piece especially played live with the deep resonance of the cello and the sweet melody of the violin. With this music, it is very easy to tailor the length and time of your walk, and importantly, it sounds as if it was specifically written for you!

Occasionally, the bridal party walk in to Pachelbel’s Canon and the bride to Wagner’s “Here Comes the Bride”. This traditional approach can work really well, the Wagner is incredibly powerful and makes for a truly dramatic entrance be it in church, chapel or amongst the vines.

Sometimes, a couple may have a piece in mind that has a special meaning just for them. Recently, we played in a bride to an arrangement of Katy Perry’s “Unconditionally” – worked an absolute treat! The song had particular significance to the couple and, knowing the words, it leant a very personal and unique quality to the ceremony.

You, as the Bride and Groom, may have a special, individual piece of music in mind for your ceremony. Check out our extensive repertoire list or contact us and we’ll advise the best way of arranging your special piece so it works perfectly on the day.
